Interestingly, CCL3 is a chemokine that not only mediates immune cell chemotaxis, but also regulates T lymphocyte function and migration following viral infection [38]; the cytokine OSM has been proposed to control the emigration of lymphocytes through a sustained expression of selectin [39], and the homing receptor SELL appears crucial for T lymphocyte activation and migration from lymph nodes, as reported in lymphoma [40].
