Linear regression analysis of oxidized albumin ratios with inflammation and iPTH showed that the HNA/HMA was detected as a predictor for inflammation measured by CRP (B=0.273, p=0.013) at 8 weeks of treatment and significant prediction was also recorded by linear regression (B=0.001, p=0.039) with iPTH at 16 weeks post oral calcitriol therapy indicating that the redox state of HSA could be used for prediction of inflammation and hyperparathyroidism in HD patients during therapy (Fig. 5). The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is hyperparathyroidism.
