MAPT and Classical progressive supranuclear palsy: The same was seen in histological assessment, where patient sera were able to stain tau pathology in brains with Alzheimer’s disease, corticobasal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy, and Pick’s disease, highlighting the fact that the targeted conformational epitopes in the microtubule-binding region of tau represent a common denominator of tau pathology in a wide range of tauopathies (Novak et al., 2018a).
