FKBP4 and periodontal disorder: Incidentally, the CFBPs constitute the first examples of a PPIase family that possess intrinsic disorder, and thus, can be explored as targets of small molecules to inhibit the growth of these DFPPI organisms, most of which are serious pathogens of human (e.g., Toxoplasmosis by T. gondii, syphilis by Treponema pallidum, periodontal disease by Treponema denticola, and Lyme disease by Borrelia sp).
