Taken together, these results and the fact that consumption of saturated fats is involved in the biogenesis of obesity (Thaler et al., 2012; Valdearcos et al., 2014), it is possible that HIF-1α stabilization is a regulator and a protective factor against saturated fatty acids induced-neuroinflammation, regulating energy expenditure and metabolism.
