NEAT1 and breast carcinoma: Recent studies showed that NEAT1 is upregulated in breast cancer cell lines as well as in patient tumor tissue and that this upregulation is associated on the one hand with increased cell growth and proliferation, invasion, promoted epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), reduced apoptosis in breast cancer cell lines and on the other hand with an unfavorable prognosis and overall patient survival, increased tumor size, lymph node metastasis, and cancer aggressiveness in patients (Li et al., 2017c,d; Qian et al., 2017; Zhang et al., 2017b; Zhao et al., 2017).
