Cytoplasmic and nuclear staining in cancer cells were analyzed, and high cytoplasmic REDD1 expression was associated with serous carcinoma (P < 0.001), late-stage disease (P < 0.001) (the cut- off for early vs. late stage is I-II vs. III–IV), and ascites (P < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene DDIT4 and cancer.
