Cytoplasmic REDD1 expression was significantly higher in ovarian cancer specimens (35.4%, 81/229) than in normal ovarian surface epithelial tissue and fallopian tube tissue specimens (16.7%, 3/18) and borderline tumor tissue specimens (8.3%, 2/24) (P = 0.009, Table 1). The gene discussed is DDIT4; the disease is ovarian cancer.
