As for T1D and CD, genetic susceptibility genes are important disease determinants in T2D, and so far studies have found over 40 associated genes, although only a few of them have been verified in several patients and laboratories including peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPARG), ATP binding cassette subfamily C member 8 (ABCC8), and potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily J member 11 (KCNJ11) [117]. This evidence concerns the gene ABCC8 and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
