In the study by Shen et al., the analysis of 51 patients having lung adenocarcinoma harboring uncommon EGFR mutations except for exon 20 insertion showed that afatinib provided significantly longer PFS than gefitinib/erlotinib did (median PFS: 11.0 vs. 3.6 months, p = 0.03) [9].
