Although tucum-do-cerrado consumption (TU) and AOM treatment (CT/DR) did not modulate BAX and Bcl-2 protein levels, the association of tucum-do-cerrado diet with AOM injection (TU/DR) promoted an increase in BAX protein levels and consequently a decrease in the Bcl-2/BAX protein ratio in the colon of rats, compared with the group treated only with AOM (CT/DR; Fig 5). The gene discussed is BAX; the disease is infectious otitis media.
