EGFR and neoplasm: There are many studies which have previously equated an increase in EGFR signaling during tumor development with a resistance to treatment with ionising radiation, for example EGFR signaling was found to be a strong determinant of tumor radioresponse in a panel of murine carcinomas [22] and in human glioblastomas [23], with strong EGFR expression correlating to poor response to radiotherapy in all cases.
