In CD1d knockout and Jα18 knockout mice, Terabe et al. found that activation of CD1d-restricted type II NKT cells is sufficient for downregulation of tumor immunosurveillance in mouse fibrosarcoma, mammary carcinoma, colon carcinoma, and lung metastases of the CT26 colon carcinoma models (74). The gene discussed is CD1D; the disease is breast carcinoma.
