Abnormal activation of c-Met signalling due to gene amplification, rearrangement or mutation, transcriptional regulation as well as autocrine or paracrine ligand stimulation, has been involved in various types of human cancers, such as head, neck, thyroid, lung, gastric, oesophageal, breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostatic, and colorectal carcinomas.11–19.
