Unlike that in CRC, gankyrin activated the AKT signaling and its upstream regulator PGK1 in gastric cancer as assessed by Western blot analysis (Figure 3(a)); this phenomenon was in agreement with the studies, wherein PGK1 activates AKT/mTOR in lung cancer [32] and regulates autophagy to promote tumorigenesis via the mTOR pathway [33]. The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is gastric cancer.
