While there is no study of VEGF-B in Behçet's disease patients in the literature, Mould et al. used the experimental mouse model to show the role of VEGF-B in the development of arthritis and found that the mouse was protected against synovial inflammation and the formation of joint destruction by inhibiting the binding of VEGF-B to the receptor (VEGFR-1). The gene discussed is FLT1; the disease is arthritic joint disease.
