Similarly, more recent work from the same group demonstrated that the presence of CD169+ macrophages in the lymph nodes was also correlated to CD8+ T cell infiltration in malignant melanoma, endometrial carcinoma (where higher numbers of NK cells were also found), breast cancer and bladder cancer (142–145), all leading to a better prognosis and increased survival rates. Here, SIGLEC1 is linked to melanoma.
