Numerous studies have tested PLK1 inhibitors, including BI2536, as potential cancer therapeutics for advanced metastatic tumors, including prostate cancer (Hou et al., 2013; Zhang et al., 2014), lung cancer (Awad et al., 2017; Breitenbuecher et al., 2017), neuroblastoma (Pajtler et al., 2017), and non‐Hodgkin's lymphoma (Vose et al., 2013) to name a few. This evidence concerns the gene PLK1 and cancer.
