The recombinant IL‐37 protein has been shown to function in wild‐type mouse models of diseases, such as ischemic injury, hepatitis, and rheumatoid arthritis (Dinarello et al., 2016; Ding et al., 2017; Sakai et al., 2012), but fewer studies have reported an association of IL‐37 with bone infections. The gene discussed is IL37; the disease is hepatitis A virus infection.
