All data mentioned above taken together might, at least, partially explain why the T allele of ENHO rs2281997, which was associated with a lower atherogenic index and hyper-LDL cholesterolaemic pattern of dyslipidaemia by K/DOQI (both reported as promoting survival in HD patients), was also associated with lower cardiovascular mortality among HD patients but only among those showing atherogenic dyslipidaemia at the beginning of our 7.5-year prospective study. The gene discussed is ENHO; the disease is Huntington disease.
