Among the laboratory parameters most frequently checked or recommended were blood count, anaemia parameters (haemoglobin, reticulocytes, ferritin, transferrin saturation and iron levels), parameters of kidney function (urea, creatinine), protein levels, inflammation markers (C-reactive protein, ferritin, calcitonin) and indicators of bone metabolism (calcium, phosphate, alkaline phosphatase, vitamin D). Here, CRP is linked to anemia.
