DLL1 and acute kidney injury: Although the Notch signaling pathway is a major target of the proteolytic activities of γ‐secretases, other transmembrane proteins including the amyloid β precursor protein (AβPP) can be cleaved by the enzymes.58, 59 However, AβPP intracellular domain has been shown to degrade N1ICD, thereby inhibiting Notch1 signaling.60 Induction of both renal Dll1 and N1ICD by cisplatin and reversal of renal Notch1 cleavage by DAPT indicate that DAPT mitigates cisplatin‐induced AKI by suppressing Notch signaling.
