-Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) was entrapped in nanoparticles conjugated with Solanum tuberosum lectin (STL), which selectively binds to N-acetylglucosamine on the nasal epithelial membrane for its brain delivery. The spatial learning and memory of AD rats in the STL-bFGF-NP group were significantly improved compared with the AD model group proposing it a good brain drug delivery system for peptide- and protein-based drugs. The gene discussed is FGF2; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
