To address this question, we have analyzed pancreatic genomic DNA obtained from wild-type and Sirt2−/− mice 7 days after caerulein-induced pancreatitis by competitive allele-specific TaqMan Mutation Detection Assays (using castPCR technology) for KRAS amino acid codon mutations at position 12 for glycine to valine (KrasG12V) or aspartic acid (KrasG12D) (Fig. 6). The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is pancreatitis.
