Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated that there were no differences in the survival rate between SCLS patients according to sex, decreased serum albumin levels (<2.5 vs. >2.5 g/dL and <3.0 vs. >3.0 g/dL), hypotension, leukocytosis and the use of steroid therapy (p > 0.05), but hematologic malignancies were associated with a decreased survival in cancer patients with SCLS (p = 0.013) (Figure 2 and Supplementary Figure S1). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and Systemic capillary leak syndrome.
