AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma: By univariate analysis, alcohol abuse, presence of PVTT at the time of HCC diagnosis, high TBIL level, high GGT level, AFP level of ≥400 ng/mL, tumor size of ≥5 cm, and tumor number of ≥2 were found to be significant risk factors, and a high albumin level and antiviral therapy were the protective factors for the incidence of death in patients without cirrhosis.
