Ibuprofen treatment suppressed the LPS-induced monocyte infiltration and further upregulated Trem2 expression in the remaining CNS monocytes in Atm−/− cerebellum ([F(1, 8) = 23.98, p = 0.0012], post hoc test: p < 0.001) (Additional file 2: Figure S2C, D, G, H, J), suggesting a possible mechanism for the anti-inflammatory effect of ibuprofen in neurodegenerative disease.
