The overexpression of YAP could upregulate KLF5 protein levels and mRNA expression levels of its downstream target genes including FGFBP1 and ITGB2 that promote BC cell proliferation and survival [71]; the interaction between TAZ/YAP and SMAD2/3 regulates novel targets such as NEGR1 and UCA1 that are necessary for tumorigenic activity in metastatic BC cells [68].
