ACTA2 and cancer: The upregulated genes were KLK2, COX5A, AZGP1, AMD1, ALDH1A3, MSMB, TPD52, OAT, TIMP4, APLP2, SOCS2, CD24, NKX3-1, SOD1, LTC4S, ANXA1, ACTA2 and HIF1A whereas downregulated ones were F3, SHH, ADIPOQ, PTGDR, ALOX12, CNR1, FGF2, PTGES and LOX. Some of these transcripts have been reported to have a potential role in cancer cell growth25, progression26–28, and angiogenesis29.
