Interestingly, when follitropin receptor knockout mice (FORKO), a good model of hypergonadotropic hypogonadism with infertility and hypoplastic internal genitalia secondary to a deleted FSHR gene and resembling human ROS, are bilaterally injected with Ad-hFSH into the ovaries, demonstrated folliculogenesis, a two–threefold rise in estrogens, serum FSH reduction, and body- and genitalia-weight increase. Here, FSHR is linked to Hypergonadotropic hypogonadism.
