Upon TLR2/TLR6 stimulation, the Pro phenotype of the TLR6 rs5743810 SNP was found to be associated with lower secretions of proinflammatory cytokines as well as tumor necrosis factor-alpha and IL-6 (among others), decreasing the risk of BC development, as compared with the Ser or wild-type phenotype responses. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is breast cancer.
