In the present study, we observed fluctuations in Notch1, Jagged1, Hes1, and Hes5 mRNA transcript levels, and found that, at 2 weeks, compared with the stroke group, expression of Hes5 in the PSD group was first decreased, but then increased after treatment by FXT or YNJYP, whereas expression levels of the receptor Notch1 and ligand Jagged1 were not significantly different among the five groups. This evidence concerns the gene HES5 and stroke disorder.
