Recently, Tobiasson et al. (2017) showed that treatment with 1 μM AZA for 24 h increased the expression of genes marked by H3K9me3 in CD34+ progenitor cells obtained from patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or myelodysplastic syndrome–related disease, but the changes in the H3K9me3 profile could explain only a minor part of changes in the gene expression profile. Here, CD34 is linked to myelodysplastic syndrome.
