AURKA and neuroblastoma: Inhibitors of aurora A kinase were shown to block neuroblastoma cell growth and to increase neuroblastoma cell responses to chemotherapy [63], and, in initial phase I trials, children with relapsed neuroblastoma treated with the aurora A kinase inhibitor MLN8237 (alisertib), both alone and in combination with irinotecan and temozolomide, demonstrated clinical responses [65,66].
