Together, these data indicate NK1.1+CD4+ T cells are primed to preferentially adopt a Tfh cell phenotype, although a proportion of the cells are capable of expressing features associated with Th1 cells (Tbet and IFN-γ), suggesting that CD4+ T cells, in general, are not fully committed to a Tfh cell fate at this time after infection.
