Experimental in vitro models indicate that EVs derived from CD90+ liver cancer cells (i.e., cancer stem-like cells present in primary tumors and blood of HCC patients, associated with metastasis as well as bad prognosis) are enriched in long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19, which promotes the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptor VEGF-R1 in endothelial cells. Here, VEGFA is linked to liver cancer.
