NFAT5 and NFκB share multiple molecular targets (17), many of which are involved in the immunopathogeneses of inflammatory myopathy including CCL2, also termed monocyte chemo-attractant protein-1 (MCP-1) (18), lymphotoxin β (LTβ) (19), tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) (20), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) (21), and heat shock protein family of 70kd (HSP70) (22). The gene discussed is NOS2; the disease is myopathy.
