In the prostate, similar results of SOD and MDA level were shown, of which the high-dose XLQ-treated group (1.67 ± 0.05 U/g and 126.81 ± 7.84 pmol/g, respectively, P<0.01; Figure 3(a)) changed the most significantly, compared to BPH group (0.87 ± 0.03 U/g and 231.08 ± 9.40 pmol/g, respectively, P<0.01) and finasteride-treated group (1.46 ± 0.09 U/g and 154.39 ± 8.53 pmol/g, respectively, P<0.05). The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is benign prostatic hyperplasia.
