PLAGL2 and neoplasm: Consistent with their roles as oncogenes, Plag1 and Plagl2 promote proliferation, anchorage-independent growth, loss of contact inhibition and tumor formation in mice (Declercq et al., 2003, 2005; Hensen et al., 2002; Landrette et al., 2005; Van Dyck et al., 2008; Zhao et al., 2006; Zheng et al., 2010).
