While the prognostic value of CD117 in cancer remains controversial, there is evidence showing that CD117 might stimulate the proliferation of PCM cells15 and interfere with the effective proliferation of normal hematopoietic cells16; however, most studies have reported that CD117 positivity predicts a good prognosis.5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Our results also revealed that CD117‐positive patients had longer PFS and OS than CD117(−) patients. The gene discussed is KIT; the disease is cancer.
