Alogliptin a member of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors is a recent drug developed in 2010 by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company [2, 7], which is used for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and it potentiates the effect of incretin hormones through inhibition of their degradation by the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 enzyme [2, 4]. Here, DPP4 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
