The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor bevacizumab has been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer patients in combination with chemotherapy [10], and the poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor olaparib has been approved for BRCA1/BRCA2-mutated high-grade serous ovarian cancer [11, 12]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and ovarian carcinoma.
