In a study by our group revealing TIMP-1 induction as a crucial factor in the anti-invasive action of cisplatin on cervical carcinoma cell lines, as well as on A549 cells, cisplatin at 30 μM had virtually no effect on MMP-2 expression [26], which is in line with the experiments regarding MMP-2 regulation by cisplatin in A549 cells presented here. This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and cervical carcinoma.
