Pretreatment with rapamycin obviously and dose-dependently suppressed the release of contrast-induced mitochondrial Cyt c, which indicated that rapamycin protects against contrast-induced mitochondrial injury (Rap1/2 compared with CI-AKI, P<0.05; Rap2 compared with Rap1, P<0.05). This evidence concerns the gene RAP2A and acute kidney injury.
