In the current study, by western blotting, we also showed that the NF-κB pathway was activated more in hBMECs infected by meningitic strains PCN033 and RS218 compared with that by HB101 infection, where the phosphorylation of p65 and degradation of IκBα were compared, as well as with the immunofluorescence experiments that showed the nuclear translocation of p65. This evidence concerns the gene NFKBIA and infection.
