While, hepatic expression of Pknox1 was significantly higher in the high‐fat diet (HFD)‐treated or T2DM (db/db) mice, suggesting aberrant Pknox1 expression may be associated with glucose and lipid dysmetabolism status of T2DM complicated with NAFLD.9 However, the underlying mechanism causing Pknox1 overexpression in this pathological status remains unclear. This evidence concerns the gene PKNOX1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
