MTOR and neoplasm: mTOR inhibitors, such as rapamycin (Nagata et al., 2010), BEZ235 (Chang et al., 2014), and TAK228 (Miyahara et al., 2017), and pharmacological ROS insults, such as buthionine sulphoximine (Leung et al., 1993), auranofin (Wang et al., 2017), and piperlongumine (Matschke et al., 2016), overcame intrinsic radioresistance, leading to delayed tumor growth in different tumor models.
