In the case of FGF and other growth factors, such as TGFα, KGF, and VEGF, it has been shown in the experimental CL hamster model that, in some types of ulcers induced by drugs or anti-tumor therapies, the decrease in proinflammatory cytokines such as IL1β and TNFα positively regulates the expression of these factors (Araújo et al., 2015). Here, FGF7 is linked to ulcer disease.
