A former study using cancer outlier profile analysis (COPA) reported that ~50% of PCa patients of PSA-screened Caucasian cohorts harbor genetic rearrangements between the 5′ untranslated region of TMPRSS2, an androgen responsive gene, and the ETS (E26 transformation-specific) family of transcription factors including ERG, ETV1, and ETV456. This evidence concerns the gene TMPRSS2 and cancer.
