Factors associated with high CSF NPY concentrations were male gender (p = 0.04), diabetes (p = 0.01), low plasma total cholesterol (p = 0.005), HDL cholesterol (p = 0.003) and LDL cholesterol (p = 0.02), high serum creatinine (p = 0.01); high CSF T-Tau (p = 0.02) and P-Tau concentrations (p = 0.01) and high CSF SOM concentrations (p = 0.03; Table 3). Here, NPY is linked to diabetes mellitus.
