Factors associated with high CSF SOM concentrations were hypertension (p = 0.004), diabetes (p < 0.0001), low plasma total cholesterol (p = 0.004) and LDL cholesterol (p = 0.002), high CSF NPY concentrations (p = 0.03) and high CSF Aβ1–42 concentrations (p = 0.03; Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene GRHL3 and diabetes mellitus.
