The Chinese Thoracic Oncology Group conducted a randomized trial looking at patients with NSCLC with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, who were naive to treatment with EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) or radiotherapy and had at least three metastatic brain lesions to either icotinib or WBRT (30 Gy in ten fractions of 3 Gy) plus concurrent or sequential chemotherapy for 4–6 cycles. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
